The hot shower wasn't working, which was a shame. Still, waking up in the little room inside the A-frame house and opening the door to icy mountains and a cold breeze on my skin was lovely. It was a charming local stay in a small village, and we were served Kazakh national dishes. It was my first time sleeping in a room that small.

We spent four nights enjoying the nature and outback, and had a very restful stay in this cozy little gem. The family hosts were the sweetest, and their delicious home-cooked meals gave us a chance to try local cuisine. Our cabin seemed newly built or very well maintained, and was clean and thoughtfully designed, with an attached bathroom and hot shower.

The river is just a short walk away, and nature surrounds you here. We stayed four nights in a simple, functional, beautiful cabin with its own bathroom. The family looking after the place were warm and hospitable, and the food included with our stay was delicious, with really fresh vegetables. It’s a great base for visiting Kaindy and Kolsay lakes.

The hosts were warm and friendly, though most don't speak English. Translation tools worked just fine for communicating. Remember to bring cash for payment. I stayed two nights in the smaller wooden hut, which was clean and comfortable, with a hot shower and heater. There isn't much space for belongings, so I'd avoid bringing big luggage. A good place to stay when visiting Kolsai or Kaindy Lakes.
