It's in a quiet, excellent spot behind the main road, with a kitchen, garden, and hall that are nice for relaxing. You can feel the comings and goings of tourists. The room was clean, but the beds were worn out, and there was only one comfortable toilet. Sometimes the hot water in the taps didn't work, though another option was available.
Natalie and Volodya made me feel like family. They shared their knowledge, food, and culture, and I was sad to leave after staying a week in this beautiful hostel. It's a big home with a lovely garden and a huge grape vine. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the location is the best in the city, with bus stops, banks, and heaps of food options just around the corner. 100% recommend!
I stayed there this month (5/2017). The house was spacious, clean, and good looking. The owners were very nice, and between his half German and her half English, we understood each other really well. They made me feel extremely welcome. Definitely recommended.
Getting around Shymkent on foot was easy from here, and Natali helped me sort out a SIM card and public transport around the city, Turkistan, and Aksu zhabagly. She’s a wonderful owner. The rooms and living area are spacious.
There are nice parks and restaurants nearby. I really liked this hostel, with plenty of space and comfortable accommodation. Finding it on Google Maps can be a little confusing.
