The pool and sauna were the only real highlights. The hotel is new, but basic things like cleaning the room, changing the sheets, and tidying the bathroom only happened if we reminded them. We weren't given any toiletries, and the shower drain stayed broken even after I asked for it to be fixed. The food was disappointing too: one kettle and one tea bag for four people, and the same muffins for three days, already dry. Make of that what you will.
They never answer the phone. What sort of service is that?
The pool and sauna are lovely, and it's a nice place to unwind. Still, it doesn't feel like a five-star hotel. We booked a suite for three adults and two children, ages 2-5, and were told it would be 18,000 tenge plus breakfast. We ended up paying 28,000 tenge. It felt like the staff were trying to charge for everything. The room was cold and breakfast wasn't much warmer. I hope the owner improves the booking process and makes this otherwise lovely place more comfortable.
The staff were friendly, and the place felt clean, quiet, and cozy. There were a few small annoyances: the second-floor boards creak, there's water in the bathroom where liquid soap should be, and the tap water used for tea tastes like bleach.
The room was spacious, the linens were clean, and there is a pool. The bathroom equipment is old, the shower runs constantly, and you can hear everything in the bathroom next door. Breakfast is just okay, usually porridge or scrambled eggs.
