Frederic even arranged two mountain bikes for us to borrow for a day trip to the nearby town. We spent three nights here as a couple and had a lovely stay, surrounded by beautiful mountains and nature outside Luang Prabang. Frederic and his wife run a great little resort, with cabins that have amazing mountain views, comfortable beds, and three very friendly dogs. The food was the real highlight: his wife cooked us excellent Asian and European meals each evening. Breakfast noodle soup and toast with homemade jam were easily the best breakfasts we’ve had on this trip. Wishing Frederic and the team all the best.

The dogs are incredibly cute, and Onh was so kind when I got food poisoning from lunch somewhere else. The owner cooked healthy food to help me recover, and they made us feel very welcome. This place is wonderfully laid-back: cosy, clean log cabins, delicious food, and clear stars at night. I slept better than I’d dreamed of. I have nothing bad to say and would love to come back.

The breakfast was really delicious, and the service was amazing too. Such a beautiful place, with lots of greenery and lovely mountain views.

The lodge feels peaceful and tucked away, but nearby activities are still easy to reach. Its eco-conscious design fits beautifully into the natural setting, with lovely views all around. I was traveling solo and Frederic and Ohn made sure I felt comfortable and at ease. They were genuinely warm and attentive, and even cooked me a homemade dish that wasn’t on the menu, which made me feel special. From the moment I arrived at Naga Lodge, it felt like being welcomed into someone’s home rather than checking into a hotel.

The food was a strong point, as both hosts are chefs, though the local options seemed a little limited. They were happy to customize dishes when asked. We stayed three nights and spent two days at nearby Nam Dong Park. Getting there means several kilometers of rough, dusty unpaved road, but the hosts’ hospitality and the quiet surroundings made it worthwhile. Gentle Frenchman Frederic and his partner run thoughtfully designed lodges, and the shared toilets and showers were clean. Recommended if you want to get away from the tourist spots.
