The staff were friendly and helpful, and the lady appears to look after poor or orphaned children in town, which is very kind of her. We hope the money we spent goes toward caring for them, and that she really does look after children in need as she claims, rather than taking advantage of them by having them work at the night market, as she implied. We didn’t stay. The private double/twin room we booked was just a mattress on the floor in a dirty room and looked nothing like the photos. It was unacceptable, and surprisingly cost more than beautiful three-star accommodation on the same road. The only positive was the staff’s kindness.

I fell off the motorbike slowly on the way to kuang xi waterfall, crossing a bridge. I hurt my leg a little, and I’m sure I fell on the left side. I asked the shop-owner’s wife to check whether the bike was damaged, but the boss showed me a photo with scratches on the left side and charged me 100000 kip. I paid, although I’m absolutely sure the scratch was my fault. I also asked for details about the photo, but my requests were refused. I had rented the motorbike at 3Pm for a full day at 120000 kip. Since I was too tired to ride the next day, I returned it at 6:30pm and asked for half a day’s money back. The boss refused. I’d put in 4000 kip of fuel at the guesthouse and had ridden only a short distance, so I also asked if the fuel cost could be refunded as compensation for the motorbike issue. When I mentioned that, the boss suddenly seemed interested and said she couldn’t do that, and that I should pay for damage after she checked it. The boss is Japanese, which felt quite different from the Japanese people I know. I like Japan and have many Japanese friends, but I found the boss’s manner indifferent and the reception very messy. What upset me most was that she never seemed concerned about my injury. As a foreign tourist traveling alone, I felt treated coldly and unfairly, and the damage charge seemed like a cheap way to squeeze money from me. Choose carefully. I’m very disappointed by what happened.

Great spot, low price, clean place, comfortable beds and good vibes. Best of all, the owner is really nice and helped me with a lot of things!
