The rooms are comfortable and the service is superb. Everyone on staff was friendly and very helpful. Our flight came in late, after the kitchen had closed, but they still brought us some food. Breakfast on our deck overlooking the river was lovely. The bathrooms are basic, with only cold water in the sink, but they work perfectly well. We highly recommend this place.

The setting beside the Nam Khan river was breathtaking, and we loved our stay at Thongbay. It’s a quieter area, a bit of a trek from central Luang Prabang, though the walk is manageable. Staff were friendly and had great local recommendations. They were happy to arrange transport into town whenever we needed it. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful every day.

It’s a charming, clean place with good value for a budget stay. The family run property is peaceful and lush, and the staff were kind with great service. Breakfast choices are simple, but we liked having it on our villa balcony. The location was farther out than we expected, and I would have preferred somewhere more central. It’s quiet by the river, which many people will enjoy, but walking into town in the heat was tough. We tried once and quickly turned back. The morning and evening shuttle into town was great, though. The beds and pillowcases weren’t especially comfortable. The balconies could use proper lounge chairs you can stretch out on, and ceiling fans, since it gets extremely hot and there are lots of mosquitos in that location.

My wife's brother recommended this hotel, and we were very happy spending our days here. The surroundings are superb, the food and service were very good, and all the staff were polite, helpful, and hospitable. Given the quality, I’d say it’s quite cheap. This might be one of the best hotels in Luang Prabang in every respect. Thank you for everything.

The pool and gardens were lovely, full of orchids and flowers along the riverbank. The people were kind and friendly, and the food was delicious. Exquisite and beautiful. A riverside bungalow is worth getting.
