The staff were excellent, the food was very good, and this is one of the most beautiful places I've stayed. They also packed me a nice breakfast to take on the boat. Still, it may be better suited to a longer stay in Pakbeng than just one night. I reached the hotel at 5:30 p.m. after the boat arrived and had to leave again at 6:30 a.m., so I barely had time to enjoy the setting despite paying a premium price. The hotel is far from town, making a return to the village difficult. Dinner was a fixed-price full meal at US $25, and while I expected premium prices and the food was excellent, I'd already eaten a large lunch and wanted something lighter, like soup. The large meal made it hard to sleep. The couple at the next table could split a menu, but that doesn't help a solo traveler. The restaurant really needs simpler choices. In hindsight, I wish I'd stayed in the village. I could have seen more of it and had more food options.

The little house was great, and dinner was lovely too. After a beautiful boat trip on the Mekong, we arrived to a very friendly welcome. They took good care of our luggage. If we return to Laos, we'll stay here again. Thank you all. Inky and Teun

We loved this lodge, though our stay was too short because we had to catch the boat again at 06h30 the next morning. The riverfront setting is stunning, the rooms are beautiful, and the team were wonderfully friendly. Town is quite a long walk in the dark, so you'll need a transfer if you're heading in.

The warmth from Sharif and the rest of the team made our stay special. We were on our way to Luang Prabang this week and had a lovely visit at the Luang Say Lodge. The whole resort felt elegant, from the polished wooden walkways and comfortable bed to the cold drink on the beautiful veranda overlooking the Mekhong. Dinner was a feast, with lots of carefully prepared dishes. Thanks!

A lovely lodge beside the Mekong, with welcoming staff and great rooms. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the showers hot, and the food excellent, with plenty of choice and generous portions. I highly recommend staying here.
