Luang Prabang Boutique House

I stayed for nine days after moving over from Bangkok with my friends. The owner greeted us with lime water and showed us the neighborhood on a map, which was helpful for finding our way around. The house is a traditional antique Laos home, close to all the well-known spots. We walked to both the night market and Dara market. There’s a street coffee shop right beside the D&T supermarket at Dara market, and the Laos Ice Coffee is sweet and great, definitely try it. I heard the owner had changed. The current owners had been running the place for about six months, and were always ready to help and look after us. They even offered drinks when we got back from sightseeing. Breakfast had lots of choices, all made by them. I had Laos noodle, toast with scrambled eggs, and toast with fried eggs, and you could choose fruit drinks or coffee too. The room was clean, tidy and great. They made the bed daily and replaced the two bottles of water, toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, soap and towels. The balconies also served as hallways, which made a nice impression. There was a table right outside our door where breakfast was served. It rained during our stay, and sitting on the balcony with coffee and music was lovely. Water and beer cost about the same as at the supermarket, so I bought beer there. Laundry was a little more expensive than at other shops, but they used a drying machine. I can’t be sure whether the other laundry places do. If I get back to Luang Prabang, I’ll definitely stay here again. Highly recommend it to other guests.

Bed bugs everywhere. We had to flee our room on the very first night, and our neighbour had the same problem. We ended up leaving our rooms together in the middle of the night. The hotel refused to give us a refund. What an unpleasant experience. Do not stay here!

The welcome drink with fruit was yummy, and the service was very good. My room was clean and tidy, with working AC, a fan and, most importantly, Wi-Fi. There was a good selection at breakfast too.

The kind, excellent service left me very satisfied. Sometimes, when I’m back from travelling and worn out, I can still taste that flavored welcome juice. They made my trip a really nice one.
