We spent a couple of nights at Athena hotel and were very happy with the stay. The staff were welcoming and service minded, and the rooms and bathrooms were spacious, comfortable, quiet, and very clean. After a day of trekking, we enjoyed the clean pool. The hotel is close to a busier road, so traffic can be heard from the pool, but we still enjoyed every moment. Breakfast had good local dishes, while the Western choices were a bit basic.
After an adventure in southern Laos, this is a great place to recover. The rooms are spacious, clean, and elegant, and there's a beautiful pool. Staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it.
I've stayed here twice, last February (2025) and again recently. It's more expensive than many places in Pakse, but the hotel and service exceeded my expectations. The whole place has a warm feel, with lots of wooden decorations that make it seem like a forest in the middle of the city. Rooms were spotlessly clean, and the housekeepers were friendly and quick during my multi-day stay. The pool is shaded and quiet. Ying and the rest of the front of house crew were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They helped me book onward travel and gave me great advice about things to do nearby and where to eat. The restaurant behind the hotel stays open later than most in the city, and its food and service are good. Breakfast was great, with lots to choose from. I have an unusual diet, and they went out of their way to handle my food requests. The staff's bright smiles and friendliness made my stay even better. The facilities are world class. It was awesome, and I'll be back.
A lovely place to relax and stay. The staff are really friendly and eager to help, and breakfast is tasty. The pool is clean and goes up to 1.5 m deep.
We only stayed one night at Athena Hotel, but it was a comfortable, quiet stay in a convenient spot. The area felt safe, even when we walked around at night, and several restaurants and bars were within walking distance. We also walked to Pakse Hotel for dinner on the rooftop, which was a cool place with a nice view. The room was clean and well kept, with a super comfortable king bed and four pillows. The bathroom was spacious, so all of us could get ready easily. There were only two towels for four people, but I'm pretty sure they would've brought more if we'd asked. It wasn't a big deal, just something we noticed. All the rooms face the pool, which makes for a nice atmosphere. The pool was clean and well maintained, and the lounging area was a good place to relax. I'd definitely consider staying again.
