Macchiato Resort Savannakhet

The room was pretty ordinary for the price. It is a nice, quiet place, with a large parking area and a charging station.

We came for four nights as a family, and the comfort of the bed was hard to leave in the morning. The rooms were very clean, and the breakfast buffet was amazing. From the owner through the staff, the service was outstanding. The hotel sits back from the street, surrounded by lush greenery, so it feels peaceful, with jazz playing in the background. It has a luxurious, resort-like atmosphere right in the heart of Savannakhet. The Thai consulate is across the street, which makes it a great place to stay if you need a Thai visa. I’d recommend it.

I’d happily stay here again. It’s reasonably priced, has a relaxed atmosphere and lots of photo spots, and also works as a café. The staff made my birthday trip to Savannakhet special, so thanks to them. The resort grounds are cool and shady, and the room itself was comfortable. There wasn’t a tea or coffee set, though you could borrow a hot water kettle for a while. In Room 25, a cobweb and spider on the ceiling were still there after the second night, so housekeeping seems to have missed that spot. We had arranged a tour van through the hotel, but it wasn’t available when we arrived. The staff kindly suggested a car rental company instead. Breakfast had a good variety, and the Sai Ua and grilled sticky rice with pork were especially worth trying. Some of the other food was dry and a little tough, since it was left on plates without hotdish. The morning tea was fragrant, refreshing, and very pleasant. Light sleepers may notice the metal doors clanging when opened or closed, and the air conditioner gets loud on a high fan setting.

I was in town for a visa, and the hotel being right across from the Thai Embassy was incredibly convenient. The rooms were clean and nice. For Savankhet, it’s a pleasant resort, though there’s no gym or pool. There was major construction going on during my recent stay, and the morning noise had me thinking of checking out. The front desk girl Jen was so kind and helpful that she changed how I felt about the stay. Without her excellent customer service, this would have been a very different review.
