Dongsay Hotel

What I liked best was the view from the room and the long, open balcony, with lovely mountain scenery. The room was spacious and had all the amenities: toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, a kettle, and water. The mattress was good, the sheets were white, Wi-Fi worked very well, and the water was hot once I checked that the electric heater was switched on. The staff were nice, and the location is handy for small cafes and the night market food court. I’d highly recommend it if you don’t need an expensive view of the Mekong River.

The location was good and the rooms were nice, but our shower had no hot water, which was disappointing. I wouldn’t book an onward bus here because the timing seemed unclear. They told us 10am the night before, but when we got up it had changed to 11am. They dropped us off, then the bus didn’t leave until 1pm. Other passengers who booked through another hotel knew the departure time. The tuk tuk they called also tried to overcharge us. The fare from the bus station should be 40k.

We were so glad to find this hotel. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and had modern air conditioning, comfortable beds, nice linen, and a great bathroom. All the staff were friendly and lovely. There’s free coffee in the morning, convenience stores all along the street, and restaurants and cafes a short bike ride away. I couldn’t find dinner within walking distance. Book direct for the best rate. We paid 300k, which was great value. Thanks for a lovely stay, highly recommend.

The room was big and clean, with good air conditioning, a shower, and Wi-Fi. There’s a lift, and it’s a 10-minute walk to the centre. We paid 350,000 kip per night.
