About 13 million kip, roughly 500€, went missing from the place where we normally kept it. We only noticed after arriving in Vientiane. When we raised it with the owner, he said he would ask the workers, then told us they denied taking it and there was nothing he could do. He wouldn't contact the police, and despite our asking, he refused to take any further steps. We had initially thought we'd rate the place around 7, which makes this all the more upsetting. We stayed in the spacious family room, but the container-style rooms felt a bit creepy. The showers need renovation, with mold stains on the ceiling, and one day we found six cockroaches in the shower. The toilet smelled moldy. The kitchen had no soap or towels, and breakfast was very basic, with only different egg options. The pool had nowhere to sit around it. Just a weird place, and not worth the money.

For about 30 € a night, it was decent, though I think you could find better for the price. The room was clean, and the hotel is roughly a 10-minute walk from the city center. There are also restaurants, bars, and shops in the neighborhood. Breakfast was a little bland, but fine.

The riverside setting was hard to beat, and getting around was easy. Staff arranged scooters, delivered right to the hotel for about €10 a day, and could help with tours too. We loved the pool and spent hours in it each evening. We'd already been impressed by the B container, but the A category with its bathtub was amazing. Both types were top-notch, new, and spotless. The A category also had a garden beside the river and a Hawaiian swing. Fantastic stay.
