The location is good, and otherwise it was a good stay, but it was loud. You could hear street noise and even someone sneezing loudly. Our room was huge, with a huge bathroom, and it was clean, with no bugs or leaks. The staff were very friendly and there was unlimited drinking water. Wi-Fi worked for messaging, unless you were near reception, so this isn't the place if you need good Wi-Fi.

Reception gave us lots of useful information and good excursion deals, and the staff were welcoming and helpful with booking trips and buses. Our room was clean and spacious, with a TV, Wi-Fi, fan, and air con; the beds were very comfortable and the linen and towels freshly cleaned. The hotel is opposite a noisy club, but from our room at the back we couldn't hear it. The friendly guy outside makes the best sandwiches and crepes in Vang Vieng. We went to him at least four times. Would definitely recommend.

The room was clean and spacious, with comfortable beds, but the hotel felt run down and poorly maintained. The stairs are steep and below standard, which could be a problem for elderly guests.

We paid 120,000 a night for a private double. The first room seemed fine until I found bed bugs, then they moved us to a terrible room. Air con and fan worked, but the TV didn't, the Wi-Fi was spotty at best, and there was no hot water. The shower head holder was broken too. Check for bed bugs if you stay here. The room looked okay from outside but was one of the dirtiest I've stayed in: dusty, with little bits covering the floor and a bathroom like a public restroom. The bath mat clearly hadn't been washed, and the sheets were stained. I checked the filthy mattress while looking for bugs. It was noisy as well. It wasn't the cheapest, and it wasn't worth the price, though I've stayed in worse rooms. You can do better in this area.

If all you need is a roof over your head, this place will do. For a clean room where you can relax, I'd look elsewhere. We stayed two nights and were glad to leave. The beds weren't very comfortable, though I've had worse, and the shower was okay with hot water. The air con looked pretty fancy, so I assume it was renewed recently. The slippers in every room were a nice gesture, but they had mold all over them. Cleaning wasn't this hotel's strong point. You can notice Vang Vieng's popularity declining, with fewer tourists coming to the village. That makes it hard for restaurants and hotels to maintain standards. I don't mean Western standards, just acceptable ones. We stayed in Malany Villa 1.
