I contacted the hotel right away after making a booking mistake, but the staff were rude and unwilling to help or suggest any solution. There was no flexibility at all, which made for a very disappointing experience. I understand that booking rules exist, but I hadn’t used the room and reported the mistake immediately. I expected a basic level of professionalism and understanding, and didn’t get it. They wouldn’t cancel the booking or change the dates, and offered no support, so I had to take the full loss. Given the attitude and lack of care, I can’t recommend this hotel.

We went to the restaurant by the Song River for dinner and ordered fried chicken fillet and cold cut. Nearly an hour later, the cold cut still hadn’t arrived. We reminded the staff twice and were told it was on the way. Tables that came in after us had already been fully served, while our order was still nowhere to be seen. The service was really poor. We won’t be back.

The staff were warm and welcoming, and Pethan, the General Manager, plus one of the reception ladies were especially helpful when I was looking for a day trip. The hotel is exceptionally clean, with a beautiful pool and a lovely room with a gorgeous balcony. It’s right by the river and close to town, yet still so peaceful. It’s my last day and I don’t want to leave! 😀

The gardens and swimming pool were well kept, and security was well manicured. I spent five nights and six days at Phubarn Vimarn Vangvieng Resort. The rooms felt clean and luxurious, with beautiful views of the Song River and the Blue Lagoon area. Staff were courteous and friendly, and breakfast was delicious. I’d definitely stay here again if I return to Vang Vieng.
