A solid value close to town, with bungalows that have lovely mountain views. It's about a seven-minute walk from central Vang Vieng, a good spot if you'd rather be away from the town's dust and commotion. The rooms are very basic but clean, and the grounds could use some attention. Staff were helpful, though at night it could be hard to find anyone once the lobby area was closed. Early morning paramotors can make the bungalows noisy, but you hear them all over Vang Vieng.

We came across the Maylin after a really awful stay somewhere else, and it turned out to be perfect for our family. The family bungalow suited us really well. We could walk to the other side of the river in just a few minutes, close enough to get around on foot while still being away from the loud partying. Each morning we watched paramotors and hot air balloons from our front porch, with the mountains behind them. The staff were kind and helpful. There's no breakfast, but they can suggest good places to eat and help arrange rentals and tuk-tuks. We'll be back and will definitely stay here again.

The only downside for me was that breakfast isn't served. Otherwise, I loved being in this peaceful spot away from the traffic and dusty town. The bungalow is beautiful, surrounded by a garden, birds and greenery, and the room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The owner is an interesting older man with lots of travel experience, and we had a really long chat. 100% recommended!! 😇

We were very comfortable in this bungalow. The facilities were simple but worked fine, and this is about as peaceful a part of town as you can find, though paramotors still fly overhead in the morning and evening.

The owners are very nice and do what they can to make your stay pleasant. The place is a little outside the city, so it's a bit quieter. You can still hear the flying Motos around sunrise and sunset, but that's Vang Vieng.
