Serene Premier VangVieng Hotel

The staff were my favorite people I met in Laos. They went out of their way to help me sort out various things. The room was great, the beds were comfortable, and the window view was amazing. Breakfast was disappointing, especially since even supercheap hostels offer better. My bathroom drain also didn’t work and caused some flooding. I’d still recommend the place.

They welcomed me with orange juice after a long bus ride, which was a lovely touch, and the front desk staff were lovely. My room was clean and the bathroom itself was very nice, though the drain smelled really bad. Aside from that, I liked the hotel.

They kindly picked us up from the bus station by motorcycle, even though we arrived late in the evening. Still, we left after one night to find another hotel. At check-in, the room category we’d booked wasn’t available, and they said we could switch the next day. The breakfast was the main problem: it felt dirty, food was uncovered with flies on it, the selection was small and mostly meat. Our room’s toilet smelled bad too. The pool looked dirty and much smaller than in the photos, so we didn’t want to swim.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was very clean, including the rooms, pool, and lounge, and the breakfast was good for the price, which was included in the room rate. Our room was huge, with panoramic windows and great views. It’s quiet outside the busy area, but still only a 5min walk from the tourist area. The staff were super friendly. I recommend staying here.
