The sunset sky here is breathtaking, and I loved spending the evenings kayaking. The kayak is free to use and very easy to row. I stayed in a cottage for three nights, with a porch facing the lake and fantastic views over more than 180°. Jun and the manager, Tiek, both speak English and were very helpful. It's quiet and peaceful, with no dogs or cats. Breakfast is free and simple: eggs and toast with butter, instant coffee and tea bags. Jun let me use the kitchen to make my own French bread. I also ordered a special coffee, which tasted very good. The kitchen serves delicious food at reasonable prices. I had stir-fried mixed vegetables for 60,000kip/less than $3. A private taxi from VV to here is 400,000kip/ $18.6/25km. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the VangVieng area.

I stayed in one of the lake view huts, with dinner there for a very cheap price and breakfast included the next morning. They also have free kayaking and an amazing dog. The owners are lovely, and the lake is very peaceful and quiet. Such an amazing getaway.

It's tucked a bit away from everything, which makes the place even nicer for a peaceful getaway. The owner is really nice and helpful, and the two dogs are loads of fun.

The basic, simple menu was good, and there are a few restaurants nearby if you'd like something different. The handmade coffee was great too. I enjoyed my stay here: the rooms were clean and updated, right on the lake, making it a perfect escape from the city's hustle. I booked a scooter and had no trouble getting to the resort, unlike a negative review I'd read.

A beautiful, peaceful spot on the reservoir, great for unwinding. Some local boats pass by, but they're not too loud and are gone quickly.
