ViengTara VangVieng Resort

Breakfast was excellent. You choose a meal from the menu, pick a time, and they bring it right to your room. The restaurant is also worth trying. I was lucky enough to get the only bungalow left when I arrived, at a price much lower than on online booking sites. My stay at Vieng Tara Villa was wonderful. The resort is beautiful, especially the wooden bridge by the private bungalows overlooking the rice fields. The view felt magical and relaxing, and the little paths between the bungalows and main entrance added to the peaceful, charming atmosphere. The only drawback is there's no pool, sauna, or jacuzzi.

It was a lovely, relaxing day for me, and I'd go back and bring friends if they ever come to Laos. The place wasn't crowded, which suited me because I wanted somewhere to unwind. The views were stunning, service was great, and the food was nice. The damp towel smelled so relaxing, and I loved the banana fritters with coconut ice cream. I also liked the local designs, and a cute, cuddly cat came and sat on my sofa. 😍

I wasn't staying at the resort, just stopped in for afternoon tea, but it turned into one of the best sunset viewpoints in Vang Vieng. Those striking photos of endless rice fields with hot air balloons and paramotors in the distance were probably taken right here. They have a great quality selection of food and drinks, including some good combo deals. The outdoor and terrace seating is limited, so get there early if you want a good spot for sunset.

We stayed an extra day just to experience ViangTara, and it was absolutely the right call. The rooms, since we couldn't get a bungalow, were simple and beautiful. The food was great, but what drew us in was the view over the lush rice paddies.
