El Sheikh Suites Hotel

The staff made this feel like coming home. Before long, we knew the parking attendants, concierge, front desk, and housekeeping teams. They were genuinely kind and interested in talking, never putting on a show. It reminded me of what I love about Lebanon: people who stop to chat without trying to sell you something. In my view, El Sheikh Suites Hotel is the best non-chain hotel I’ve stayed at. We spent 12 nights there and were upgraded to a large suite on the 10th floor, with separate living and sleeping rooms. It stayed at a comfortable temperature throughout. The hotel always had a pleasant, welcoming smell. Free valet service with an underground garage was a big help in this busy area. The location was great, close to Spinneys supermarket and many excellent, affordable places run by local vendors we spoke with every day. There were short power cuts each day, but they lasted only seconds and things came right back. Wi-Fi was good, though it slowed a lot in the evenings. Beirut is a beautiful city, and if I return, I’ll choose El Sheikh Suites again without hesitation. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Hamra was a great base for walking around the neighborhood, and it was easy to get a taxi when we needed one. The staff were all helpful, especially Mohammed and Ahmed at the front desk. They upgraded us to an executive suite at no extra charge, as other reviews have mentioned. It was spacious and had one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. We’d stay at El Sheikh Hotel again if we return to Beirut.

The valet team were cheerful and helpful every time, and all the staff made us feel welcome. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location was hard to beat. We had a lovely stay with our baby, and really appreciated the upgrade. We’ll come back on our next trip to Lebanon!

Clean rooms, quick service, and wonderful staff. Their hospitality made our stay so much better. This is our go-to hotel from now on.
