Omar and Mona were fantastic hosts, and even when we arrived in the middle of the night, Omar opened the door for us. The place was clean and relaxing, and we had a really good time. It's a historic building, which gives it its charm. Just remember this isn't a five-star hotel and the toilet room is shared. If you want a historic place to stay in Beirut, this is a good fit. I'd come back.

The location is nice, but I can't recommend this place. I left at 9 o'clock because of the problems, lost all my money, and booked another hotel very close by. The internet there worked perfectly, and the attention, cleaning, and services were far better. It was a big difference, though I doubt they care. A backpacking hostel would be a better choice if you're considering this place. This isn't really a hotel in terms of its category or services. If you want comfort, stay away. The rooms weren't clean: the floor and furniture were dirty, and the walls were damaged. The WiFi didn't work. Nobody was there waiting for me. The owner took bed linen from a table and made up my room in front of me in under a minute. My window had no doors, so the neighbors could see me and I could see them. There was no privacy. I explained that I was traveling and working, and told the owner I was stressed by the lack of comfort and internet connection. He didn't take the situation seriously and answered, “it’s Liban.” Really? This was the worst place I've stayed anywhere in the world. When I said I was leaving because of the obvious problems, they looked unhappy, said goodbye, and kept all my money. Usually I'd expect some refund in that situation, but they offered none. Very unprofessional. Find another option and you'll get more comfort for your money.

It's very old. When I went looking for a hotel staff member, all I found were closed doors and nobody there to answer.

A hotel with a home-like feel.

The WiFi costs $5 per person per day, which is the one downside. Otherwise, it's a very nice hotel, and Omar is welcoming and helpful. He makes you feel at home.
