Pangea Beach Resort

We’d been there for only three hours, but I was already worried about what else might happen. I wouldn’t recommend the place to any of my friends. We booked for four people and a private pool, in a duplex Chalet. A few days before we arrived, we asked for photos and were sent pictures of a nice, tidy room. When we got there, the stairs between the bedrooms were outside them, so we had to walk in front of the whole resort to reach the other bedroom. The pictures showed stairs inside the bedroom. This isn’t a duplex, it’s two separate bedrooms. They didn’t need to send falsified pictures; if I’d known, I wouldn’t be writing this review. Check-in was at 2, and we arrived on time, but the room wasn’t ready. That happens, and the cleaning team were really polite, so we didn’t rush them. Reception was another story. We called at 2 p.m. because there were no towels. By 5 p.m. we still had none, even after calling at least four times to ask for them.

The service was excellent. The pool is nice, especially the VIP section, but the hotel rooms were only okay and the furniture needs updating. Around the resort, the bathrooms badly need renovation, and some toilets don’t even flush. Breakfast at the restaurant is very limited, with just one choice, so if you’re staying more than one night, plan something else for the other mornings.

The views and setting are beautiful, with the pool, bungalow, beach, and sea view from the room. The place has huge potential to be a great hotel with the right person in charge. But the customer service was the worst I’ve experienced. Asking for anything made it feel like I was annoying the staff. Even getting a beach towel took energy, time, and patience, and in the end I had to find one myself because they couldn’t help. There was leftover food in the corridor, so you could smell it on the way to your room. The balcony jacuzzi was broken, and the couch in the room was really dirty. Seeing fancy cars in the parking lot gave the impression of a luxurious place, but that turned out to be an optical illusion. This was my first and last stay here. I’d only recommend it to someone who doesn’t want any customer service. I gave it two stars only for the beautiful view and its potential.

The resort itself is nice, with a good pool and access to the beach. In summer there are beach events and parties, and there’s a beach bar by the pool. We had our wedding here, but management, from the owner to the staff, gets zero from me. Given that we were getting married at the venue, there was no great hospitality. They gave us the honeymoon room, but it was just a standard double. I expected something more.
