The room wasn't worth more than $20. There was hair on my pillow, and the walls were covered in spider webs. The place was in very poor condition and not clean. Electricity went out, and the generator stopped at 2 a.m. until 6 a.m. We were told it would stay on, but it went out again at 8 a.m., so we packed up with no power. He let us use the AC and charged us $50, then took $10 off after the generator failed. We couldn't leave the door open because the screen had a huge hole. Even with the reduction, this didn't meet the standard of a one-star stay. Not recommended.

Just a few steps from the busy Berdawny, this apartment was a lovely place to stay. There are great restaurants all around, and you can enjoy traditional ASHTA icecream nearby. Even in the very hot summer weather, the nights were comfortable enough that we didn't need the AC.

I got dizzy and ill, and couldn't stand to spend even one night there. The bed was dirty, the bathroom was tiny and disgusting, and there was a musty smell. Don't trust the pictures. This was one of the worst hotel apartments. I wouldn't advise anyone to stay here.

Maroun made check-in quick and easy, and was friendly and responsive. There's ample parking right in front. The apartments are within walking distance of the berdawny river and have a view of the entrance. You can book several adjacent apartments, so it's affordable and suitable for a big group. If you want a simple stay with the feel of traditional Lebanese apartments, this is it.

You can walk to shops and restaurants from this centrally located place in Zahlé. For day trips around Bekaa Valley, it's best to have your own car, and you can park it right in front of the apartment.
