MOHAMAD D.
A lovely choice for families. The pool is attractive, kept in good shape, and feels safe for children. There’s lots of room to lounge and enjoy the sun, and the atmosphere is calm, clean, and welcoming.

The beach Sawary offers was dirty and unsanitary, so I wouldn't want to set foot there. I spent most of my time by the pool instead. I was told I could only use my floatie at the beach, not in the pool, which made little sense given the condition of the beach. I also found it discriminatory and unreasonable that burkinis were not allowed in the pool in 2025. People who follow their religion should be able to enjoy themselves too, especially in a country with such wide religious diversity. The staff came across as passive aggressive, and being kind to guests shouldn't be difficult. Aside from those issues, the pool, drinks, and location were good, and my experience was fairly average overall. There’s plenty of room for improvement.

There was no toilet paper unless we asked, and we had to chase staff for clean towels. The rooms and corridors had an unpleasant odor, and there was no attention to detail. The whole place felt dirty, poorly maintained, and short on hospitality. The service was appalling, and the resort felt more like a chaotic school camp than somewhere to relax. Children were left unsupervised by parents who seemed to treat it as a dumping ground, while the lifeguards seemed more focused on intimidating guests and throwing their weight around than keeping people safe. I usually avoid negative reviews because I run several businesses and understand how damaging they can be. But I couldn't stay quiet this time. I love this country and, despite all it has endured through war and hardship, chose to invest my time and money here instead of elsewhere. As visitors returning to support our homeland, we expect at least to be treated respectfully. If Lebanon wants tourism and returning expats, attitudes like this need to change. Guests, local or foreign, deserve better.

From what I understand, the father who owned the place has left and put his kids in charge, and they’ve let it go downhill. It’s shameful to see them ruin what he spent his whole life building. Everyone in Lebanon knows each other, so the talk about the business is just as bad as the reviews. I hope you change.

We wanted an easy day by the sea with our two young kids, and the relaxed, comfortable setup at Sawary in Batroun suited us well. We went this past Friday on a beach day pass. The sandy shore was clean, comfortable, and safe for the children to play, which was a real highlight for us as parents. The beach facilities are simple and practical, and the restaurant is close by. We liked the food and the service was smooth, so managing a day with kids was easier. This isn’t a luxury resort with high-end details, but it gave us the calm, straightforward family outing we were looking for.
