Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort - Adults Only

Our honeymoon at Royalton hideaway resort couldn’t have had a better setting. The resort is beautiful, the restaurants were very good, and there were lots of fun activities both day and night. Every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. Our butlers, Cirtney and Rodney, exceeded all expectations and took wonderful care of us. They made our experience here. We also recommend Benny speed boat tours to the mud bath and sulfer springs. The ride gives you a beautiful view of the island. We highly recommend the resort and can’t wait to return one day.

We’ve had a nice time overall, though service and food have been mixed. Some staff were pretty cold and acted as if we were an inconvenience. A simple greeting would’ve helped us feel welcome. We did meet some amazing locals who made all the difference: Travis from the vibe team, Challine at the excursions counter, Samuel with the coconut drinks, and our butlers Raymond and Kurtney. They were the highlight of our stay. The bartenders at the hideaway bar were friendly too and remembered our drinks. The food wasn’t the best, but the dinner spots were amazing. We wish the waitress service had been better, though Zen restaurant was amazing, and Miguel and our waitress were absolutely fantastic. We’d tip anyone who made our stay so wonderful.

The daily activities were a lot of fun when we caught them at the right place and time. We saw the Michael Jackson show and international show, plus a pool foam party and a white party on the beach. There are several pools, so they never felt crowded, even around the hot tub, and there’s plenty of free stuff to enjoy around the resort. We liked the range of food and entertainment, though the buffet wasn’t for me. Breakfast was disappointing because the meat options were all pork. Dinner reservations are a good idea if you want to make sure you get the dining experience you’re after. Local food and customs can vary, so it helps to keep an open mind. If you’re in Diamond Club, use your butlers. They’re there to help and can make the holiday much more relaxing. I’d also like more space between The Hideaway and the Royalton Family Resort, and activities just for adults. Still, I’d book this resort again and expect a great time.

The butlers were the bright spot for us. Esther and Garvin were wonderful, and they’re the reason I’d give this place at least three stars. The setting is beautiful, but getting there takes around two hours from the airport on winding, roller-coaster-like roads. The resort badly needs renovations. After we returned from the beach, water was pouring through our ceiling and our room was nearly flooded. Staff didn’t seem in a hurry to move us and said maintenance might be able to fix it. Then part of the drywall came down. We waited over an hour to move a few doors down while water was still coming through. The beach is man-made and covered in rocks and seaweed. For the price, it felt underwhelming. The food was just okay, mostly cold, and not a memorable culinary experience. Mojitos were a problem too: nearly every time we ordered one, we were told the bar was out of mint, even though I could see a whole bucket right in front of my wife and me.
