South Sea House

Lovely apartment with a pool and plunge pool, set on a short but steep hill. The host was very helpful. You’ll need a hire car, though taxis can be booked by phone. It’s a way from the shops, so pick up groceries on the way unless you have a car. Good value for money.

A quality apartment in a lovely part of St Lucia, with a beautiful sea view and a nice breeze. You can rent a one or two-bedroom place, and each has its own plunge pool alongside the outdoor shared pool.

I was lucky to fit in a trip to St Lucia between lockdowns, when flights were scarce. I spent two relaxing weeks at South Sea House, which was then one of the few villas certified as COVID compliant. It’s easy to see how they qualified. Karen took her responsibilities seriously without being overbearing, checking temperatures and advising us to use the right taxi service. The apartment was exceptionally clean, with its own separate entrance. Pool use was arranged so visitors wouldn’t overlap. The place was incredibly peaceful during the day, with an amazing view and a kitchen stocked with everything we needed. Karen brought any groceries we wanted, and each apartment has a private plunge pool. The main pool area was heavenly, with comfortable loungers. Cas en Bas, the nearest beach, is open to tourists and a short US$5 taxi ride away. We could still get out and explore the island. I took a boat tour with Karen’s husband, and it was an idyllic day, an absolute must. I can’t fault the hospitality, and the apartments are excellent value. I absolutely recommend a visit.

We had an excellent stay at The South Sea House near Gros Islet, and would gladly stay again. The apartment was exactly as described, maybe even better, with large rooms and an exceptionally clean feel. There’s plenty to see and do in the area. The hosts were very attentive and answered all our questions quickly. Highly recommend.
