Pigeon Island looks lovely from here, but the beach itself wasn’t the golden sand and calm turquoise water I expected. Saturdays are especially difficult if you’re hoping to unwind. You have to pay for a chair and umbrella, too.

There were plenty of locals enjoying the beach, which is always a good sign. The sunset views are lovely and worth seeing, though the beach itself is pretty average. Vendors keep approaching to rent chairs and umbrellas, so going later and bargaining a little may help. It’s a shame the beachfront property is fenced off. It could have been amazing.

With its long stretch of soft golden sand, calm turquoise water, and lots going on, Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay is one of the best-known beaches in northern Saint Lucia. It’s a beautiful, popular spot with plenty of things to do.

It’s not especially busy, but it isn’t very attractive right now either. Construction at both ends, red barriers all along the beach, and a quarry and industrial site just past the southern end have taken away from its appeal.

We were staying at the Royalton and had a beach there, but we preferred this one. There’s so much shoreline to walk, and barely any rock or coral around the bay. Guyelle at Paradise Chairs and Umbrellas can arrange chairs and an umbrella with space in front and behind you. The locals were genuinely warm and lovely people. We loved it here ❤️
