Bel Jou Hotel

Sherlorne and the other women at the front desk made our honeymoon feel special, even sending us a bottle of champagne when we arrived. Jaffery led great water aerobics, and the Thursday night steel band and fire show was incredible. The cooking demonstration was great, and the food and drinks were top notch. My husband and I had a wonderful time at Bel Jou Hotel. It was our first all inclusive stay, and we’re so glad we tried it. We’re really grateful to all the staff who made our trip so special.

Jaffree made the daytime activities a highlight. We did morning yoga, Saturday beach walks and a walk to the lighthouse with him. There’s a free shuttle bus on thebupur from 9am to 4pm that takes you to town and the beach. Vigie beach is beautiful, and it has complimentary loungers. Staff keep an eye on your belongings if you go for a walk or a swim. The town market and duty free shop are there, though the town is hectic. You need to be careful, and you can’t walk anywhere from the hotel, especially at night. We had a relaxing 10 days at Bel Jou, thanks to the amazing hotel staff. Our room was comfortable and cool, with an ocean view and a lovely balcony. There are lots of steps around the hotel. The pool areas are great, and reception keeps towels readily available. By the larger pool there’s a self service bar stocked with beer, wine, spirits and mixers. There’s also a self service coffee area with snacks and hot drinks all day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the buffet were good, though a little more variety would help. I wouldn’t recommend the a la carte restaurant, as some meals didn’t match their descriptions and a few options had run out.

The spa services and organized activities deserve a special mention. There was so much care put into this place. I came for spring break with my mom last year, and it was perfect for a quiet, relaxing vacation. The food was amazing, the staff were so friendly and helpful, and the view was better than any beach view hotel. I never wanted to leave.

There could have been a bit more reggae music by the pool, but this is a place with a relaxing vibe aimed at a more mature clientele. My wife Maria and I would recommend it and would definitely stay here again. With the exception of a small few, the staff were amazing and extremely friendly. Special mention to Quincey, a gentle, cool Guy, and Janet in the restaurant, who’s great fun and would be great in a more entertainment focused role. Our room was kept very well each day, and the food was very good.
