The staff were friendly and helpful, from calling taxis and checking prices to giving recommendations. They even let us stay around after checkout until our ride arrived. Our room was spacious and clean, with an average-sized bathroom and a small balcony. The pool was clean and the outdoor area tidy. The breakfast was average, and the free drink ticket on arrival was a nice touch. A shuttle goes to the other two Bay Gardens Hotels, where you can use their amenities. Though this hotel isn’t on the beach, we took it to Bay Gardens Beach Resort, about 10 minutes down the road, and enjoyed the beach and lounge chairs. The location suited us, close to Rodney Bay Marina’s restaurants, excursions and small market for basics like water, and halfway between Reduit beach and Pigeon beach. Weekends could get loud from nearby music and parties. Hewannora airport (UVF) is about a 1 to 1-1/2 hour drive, depending on traffic and time of day. For a 3-star hotel, it was what I expected, and it fit what I needed.

Nigel’s meals were outstanding, and most of the serving staff were excellent, especially Gertrude, Arnold, Eufamia and Tessa. Sue, the General Manager, was friendly and regularly checked that everything was okay. The hotel was very quiet, and I really enjoyed my stay. I did have a couple of issues at Reception, where staff seemed unsure about the protocols for All inclusive stays. I’m still trying to resolve one particular issue from home.

The room stayed hot and muggy, with a damp feeling the whole time. It looked clean but felt dirty, and outside noise made it hard to sleep, with motorcycles and karaoke going until 2 am. I was there for one night. The staff were very friendly, the bartender was kind, and the restaurant food was good. It’s a beautiful spot within walking distance of Rodney Bay shops and cafes. You get what you pay for, but for a peaceful getaway I’d look at Windjammer Landing.

The rooms felt old, and the desk was too low for the chair. We also had no water for over eight hours on both the first and last day of my stay. One of the worst hotels in St. Lucia.
