Anse Chastanet Resort

The food was a lovely surprise. We chose the MAP meal plan since we might have a wine or beer now and then but aren't big drinkers. The chefs made every meal with care, and there was a good selection each night. My husband loved the lionfish special, and the chef kindly made me a delightful meal by the beach since I don't eat seafood. Breakfast fruit was delicious too. We stayed in 7E, with a view of the Pitons and ocean that was stunning in every kind of weather. The staff welcomed us so warmly, and the cozy, private beach was a lovely place to spend each day. Snorkeling was vibrant, with coral, lots of fish, several turtles, eels, lobster, and other creatures. It may not be the best snorkeling you'll ever do, but it was a great experience each time. We also enjoyed the excursions and seeing more of the island. At night we loved lying beneath the vivid stars in the open space. We couldn't have picked a better place for our second wedding anniversary, and can't wait to come back. Thanks for everything.

The people were what made Anse Chastanet stand out for us. Every staff member we met was warm, kind, and genuine, and we felt welcomed rather than treated as just another resort booking. Jonathan and Roger Moffat made a particular impression with their hospitality and care, and the Troubetzkoy family and the whole Anse Chastanet team helped make our anniversary trip unforgettable. We'd spent ages researching Caribbean resorts before booking, comparing rooms, food, excursions and service, and somehow the real experience was even better than we'd hoped. The property is beautiful, with lovely beaches, incredible views, excellent food and a setting that makes it easy to slow down and enjoy Saint Lucia. Every meal felt special. My wife had a hot stone massage and said it was the best of her life. The spa was a highlight for her. Since we got home, I've recommended Anse Chastanet to several friends and family, and some are now considering a visit. We just celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary there, and it was one of the best vacations we've ever had. We'll absolutely be back.

Easy parking, and the beach, snorkeling and lunch were exceptional. We went to the non-hotel side, where chairs with an umbrella cost $60. After 12 o'clock they apparently don't check, so people can just sit down. We paid, but nobody else did and they got their chairs for free. They seem to care only about the dive shop business.

The drive was fun, but the shops seem geared toward resort guests. They wouldn't rent us snorkel gear even though plenty was available. If you plan to snorkel, bring your own or get there very early. A cruise ship had also docked there.
