Villa Effort

Danuka was so lovely and helpful, and kept the villa spotless. Our room was clean and spacious, with a balcony and mosquito net. There’s also a communal kitchen with a fridge and water filter, plus a washing machine, all free to use. We stayed four nights and loved it. I’d definitely come back if I’m in Ahangama again.

I slept really well here because it’s well away from the railway and main roads, and so quiet. The hosts were incredibly kind and always willing to help. I’ve stayed at many hotels around Ahangama, and this is easily the best. The room has air conditioning and a fan, and the shower has hot water. There’s also a fully equipped kitchen, drinking water, a washing machine, somewhere to dry clothes, and scooters for rent. I totally recommend it.

Manilka made our stay special, and also took us on a three-day trip to Yala National Park, showing us some nice places along the way. The villa is within walking distance of Kabalana beach, in a great but very quiet location. Our room was clean and nice, with hot running water, and the staff were helpful and kind. We had a very pleasant few days here. Thank you. You can also rent a motorbike at the villa.

The villa is far enough from the main street and railway to stay quiet and peaceful. The staff were helpful and kept things tidy, and arranged to have a scooter delivered for me. Kamal, the owner, was super friendly and always asking how things could be improved. He invited me to his new hotel, where his wife cooked dinner for some of us while we watched the 20/20 England v Sri Lanka game. It’s great value, with comfortable beds, good showers, and a well-stocked shared kitchen with fridges, a water filter, plates, utensils, and whatever else you’d need. Free, unrestricted internet too, plus a washing machine and clothesline guests can use at no charge.
