The food at German Lanka was fresh, delicious, served warm, and still made in-house. There were no guests staying then, so we could look around some rooms at our leisure. They had air conditioning and cost about €25 a night with breakfast. The lady of the house was really nice and shared some pleasant anecdotes. Her "boys," as she called them, seemed a little disorganized. You could swim in the river, but the water quality seemed questionable, especially with the "amusement water park" next door.
