David Villa

The balcony was the best part of our room at David Villa. It was spacious, and we liked having the kitchenette too. We spent lots of time relaxing on the balcony, watching incredible birds and playful monkeys. The area is pretty quiet, with a grocery store, ATM, and a few restaurants an easy walk away. We stayed three nights. David took us by Tuk Tuk to the Ancient City sites and patiently waited while we explored the places we wanted. He also drove us to Sigirya, and his prices were fair. The shower even has a squeegee, which is rare and very useful in a “wet bath”.

Be careful when making an agreement with the owner. He seemed very friendly at first, but I found him cunning and hard to deal with. I got a very unpleasant feeling from him, and definitely wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re a woman traveling solo.

The place is near the railway station and bus stand, both within walking distance. Mr David is nice and friendly. The rooms are ok, though they could have been better. I was told there are lots of molds in the room because of the rain. Otherwise, a nice and friendly place.

Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the staff were attentive and friendly, going out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. David villa had a wonderfully peaceful, relaxing atmosphere and a perfect location. Highly recommended if you’re after a comfortable, charming place to stay.
