Queen of Elephant Lodge

We spent three days here during our Sri Lanka honeymoon tour, and the wildlife kept us entertained. Keep an eye on your food around the monkeys! The staff are what really made the place for us. Everyone, from the grounds team and cleaners to reception, the chefs, and bar staff, was cheerful and ready to help. Chandimu always greeted us with a smile and a friendly chat, and did everything he could to make the trip special. Chef Lakshani also made us delicious omelettes in the morning and greeted us with a happy smile. The rooms were great and the food was lovely. We had a fantastic time here.

We had a fantastic three-night family stay. There was a great range of food, and the service made us feel very well looked after. Everyone was friendly and quick to help. Sunil, Perera, and Dilshan were wonderful hosts. We loved the towel elephant and how they kept our refreshments topped up. Indunil and Kanishka also looked after us so well at every meal. The whole team helped make the trip special, and I’d happily recommend a stay.

The rooms were tidy and clean, and the pool was just as well maintained. There was plenty to choose from at meals, including Sri Lankan, Indian, Western, Chinese, and other dishes. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I especially appreciated Chef Hasitha, Mr. Imasha, Mr. Dahamjith, Mr. Indrajith, Mr. Saranaga, and Mr. Kavinda for their support during our stay. Habarana Village by Cinnamon has a lovely lake view, green surroundings, and a relaxing atmosphere that felt almost meditative. In the evenings, the sunsets were beautiful, and the birdsong in the trees added to the peaceful feeling. The hotel also has arrangements for bird watching, as well as a safari for elephant watching. It’s convenient for visiting nearby places like Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Pidurangala Rock, Dambulla Cave Temple, Hiriwadunna Village, and Ibbankatuwa Megalithic Tombs, among other local attractions. I’d recommend it for anyone wanting a nature-filled place to relax while exploring the historical and cultural sites nearby.

The rooms in the little cottages are comfortable and very sanitary, with an old-fashioned design. There’s a lovely pool and, nearby, a river that I found really beautiful. You can also ride bikes along a small road set aside for bicycles. There are multiple food choices, and the staff are helpful. It’s an organized, beautiful hotel. I’d love to come again.
