Rajarata Lodge

The location works well for visiting the old city, and the parking is in a safe place. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy, with hot water. Still, I wouldn’t recommend a longer stay, or a stay with kids or older adults, because all the rooms are upstairs. There’s a relaxing dining area, but they couldn’t provide us with meals. We expected better service from a place like this, and they didn’t meet our expectations.

Parking was easy, with a covered area and an EV charging station, and the resort is close to the sacred sites. We also really enjoyed the restaurant beside the lovely paddy field. The staff were very friendly, and both the room and washroom were clean and well kept. We had an excellent stay at Rajarata Family Resort. For us, it's easily the best hotel in Anuradhapura.

The peaceful garden made it easy to relax, and the location worked perfectly for visiting Anuradhapura's historic sites. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The staff were warm and attentive throughout our stay. A wonderful place for families and great value.

The room was clean, the AC worked, and the bed was comfortable, though the pillow was far too thin for me. There were two isolated columns inside room 303, a pretty big design failure, and the bathroom had no proper window. Its door had no handle, just a sticker over that spot, and it could only be locked from outside. After using the bathroom, you needed someone else to let you out 😂. We had chicken fried rice for dinner, but it was much too oily, and the chili paste was just chili flakes. The TV didn't work either. There were several power cuts, and I don't think the place had a generator. The staircase is very narrow, too.
