Salubrious Resort

It’s right on the main road, so it may not suit you if you’re after a calm, relaxed vacation. Temples are easy to reach, about 2km away. The room was spacious and clean, with very comfortable bedding, hot water, and a good TV connection. The pool was clean and big enough, and the staff were super friendly and supportive. They even let us cook kiri ahara early in the morning. The gentleman at the front desk was especially helpful and communicated really well. I’d definitely visit again.

There are several places to eat within walking distance, or you can order meals here. The location also makes it easy to get into town. Our room and bathroom were very comfortable, with new accessories, and the staff were exceptionally kind and supportive. We had a great experience and would definitely come back. Highly recommended if you visit Anuradhapura.

Salubrious is out on the edge of the city centre, and it was okay for a night’s stop. The rooms have useful amenities, including a mini fridge. If you’re on the top floor, though, there are a few things to know: Room 114 is beside two pressure pumps that make a huge noise when they run, and the staff quarters are on that same floor, which felt awkward. The room itself was relatively clean, but the sheets looked “used”.

The room had enough space, was clean, and didn’t smell bad. It’s near the main road, and there was hot water. The food tasted good, but there wasn’t enough, so it’s better to get food from outside. Also, there was no mini fridge, even though it was listed in the facilities. Bring your own bedsheets, since they don’t provide sheets or blankets. The booking management seemed questionable. We called the day before and double-checked what they had noted, but they still hadn’t marked our breakfast. We had to remind them, and were really disappointed when they said it wasn’t on their record. Better to book just the room.
