A spacious place with easy access from colombo road, and worth the cost if you can afford it. It has plenty of facilities for hosting large gatherings, including a separate cooking area with kitchenette items kept in storage. The staff are very helpful, making it a great spot for functions.
No hot water, and even after we raised the hotel’s shortcomings, the owner never came to speak with us. Maybe it suits backpackers, but I wouldn’t call it a three-star place.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, and the price felt fair. It’s handy for Madu Ganga safari trips, about 200m from Balapitiya railway station and 400m from the bus stop. There’s also a boat safari and fish therapy spot near the hotel. Prices were 2200 for an air-conditioned room with pool access, 200 LKR per person for fish therapy, and 3000 LKR for a boat safari.
The meeting hall was okay and easy to get to, and the dance floor looked beautiful. There’s room for over 300 at weddings. The service was kind, the food tasty, and the room, pool, and view were all very good.
