Kannan was a great host and manager, with lots of knowledge about local amenities and attractions. He was proactive about helping guests, and his surf lessons worked for whatever your skill level. My son and I spent seven nights at Drift in July. It’s a lovely guesthouse on a quiet road, and our room was light and airy with a nice balcony. We especially enjoyed his Tut Tut safari. We saw more elephants than we had in Yala.

Drift is in a great spot for visiting Arugam Bay and getting to the surf breaks. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Kannan made our stay special with a unique Tuktuk safari and the best surfing lessons we’ve had. Highly recommend staying here!

Drift was the best place I stayed in arugam bay, and in Sri Lanka. The rooms were beautiful and very clean, with good aircon and wifi, and lovely gardens where monkeys even came to visit. The location is ideal, near main point for surfing and all the restaurants and cafes. Kannan also knew where to eat, whether I wanted Sri Lankan, western or the cheapest food. Kannan treated me like family, especially when I turned 30 on the trip. He made me a homemade fire bbq, one of the most special experiences I shared in Sri Lanka. He’s kind, honest and fun, an amazing host, tour guide and chef. He took me on adventures and made sure I had a great time in arugam bay. I’m an experienced surfer and he found waves that suited me, and he’s also one of the best instructors for beginners. I’ll be back every time.

We had a relaxing week here. The rooms have great beds, airco and nice outdoor seating, and baby point is just a five-minute walk away. Kannan was a great host and surf teacher who went out of his way to help us. We improved so much with his lessons. His Tuk tuk safari was great too. We saw more animals than in Yala, especially elephants and crocodiles from very close by. Kannan is an excellent spotter.
