Scam! I called to book a room for 1 week, but when I arrived, the guy said I could only stay 1 night and would have to move to another room after that. He said it was season time and, since I hadn't paid in advance, he didn't need to hold a room for me. Then why tell me to come at all? I booked because I knew it was season time. Finding somewhere else at the last minute was really hard, but I didn't want to stay with someone I felt was dishonest and could kick me out whenever he wanted. It was so disrespectful. He only cares about money. The room was boiling hot, and you can get much better places for better prices. I had to walk around in the heat looking for another room. This place is a joke. What a scam.

The cabanas are in an amazing spot, on a small island surrounded by fresh water and beside the lagoon. This review is really about the owner, who was the most amazing person I met in Arugambay. Our group of mates asked him for help, and he went way beyond what we expected. He had no ulterior motive at all, he just wanted us to have the best experience of his hometown. I was so blown away by him.

The quiet was lovely, with palm trees all around and birds to listen to in the morning. We even saw a crocodile not far away! Our bungalow at River Point Cabana was really nice and clean, and we had a great stay.

Najeem is a top-notch host, always ready to help. We stayed in a new little house cabana with a kitchen just for us, in a cosy place with a beautiful garden and lovely individual cabanas. Ask him to take you camping in elephant rock, it’s sure to be an experience you won’t forget.

Najeem’s place feels like a little home away from home. It’s clean and comfortable, and the people are genuinely nice and accommodating. The location is peaceful, set just far enough off the main road to feel relaxing, while still being close to everything.
