You can get to Arugambe Beach from here, which is a nice plus. The food was tasty, good quality, fairly priced, and served in generous portions.

We loved the garden setting and the quick service, and the staff were both friendly and capable. There are good Western and Sri Lankan choices, with vegetarian and meat dishes, plus apple pie and vegan ice cream made with coconut milk. So good! Prices felt reasonable next to other places, and we didn't have to wait an hour for food. Our favorite restaurant in Arugam Bay, highly recommend.

I had Christmas lunch here in 2014 with a big group of friends from work, and stayed the night since rooms were available. The place was well built and trendy. It had been operating for many years and was originally owned and run by a Danish couple. The old man was quite racist and was swept away in his jeep during the tsunami. The old lady was humble and passed away peacefully about three years ago. Since then, there seem to have been management problems, though I hear a well-known friend has taken it over and they're getting ready to open this season.

Loud boom boom music goes on until 4 a.m. on Wednesdays, and sometimes later. You can hear it from all the hotels nearby, and sleeping is impossible. Seems strange for a hotel.
