The Wind Castle

The staff were polite, friendly and ready to help from the moment I arrived. Their hospitality made the stay feel warm and personal. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained, with a cozy feel that suits Nuwara Eliya. Waking to the fresh air and views was lovely. Wind Castle is quiet and well kept, with beautiful misty mountains and greenery around it. The peaceful setting makes it a refreshing break from city life, and it works well for couples, families or anyone looking to unwind. It's also close to Nuwara Eliya's main attractions, so getting around is easy. I really enjoyed the cool hill country climate and surroundings here. The comfort, views and service were all great, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Nuwara Eliya for a peaceful, memorable stay.

Dinner at The Wind Castle's restaurant was perfect, and breakfast the next morning was excellent. Both meals came in generous portions, so you certainly won't go hungry 😊😊. I was also impressed by the building itself. We had a huge family room with a wonderful view and a lovely time with our friends. I'd highly recommend staying here for the unique atmosphere, the tea plantation views and all the lush greenery around.

The lovely staff, hot shower, generous and reasonably priced breakfast, and great view were the positives. I shared my feedback with management directly, so I won't go over it all here. The property looks good from a distance, but in my view it's only a 2-2.5 star place at best and needs serious renovation. There were rough finishes, worn furnishings, a musty smell throughout and very little in the way of furnishings. Our big family room was mostly empty floor space. It felt like an abandoned castle in the middle of nowhere, with no atmosphere at all. We had booked two nights, but left after the first and moved to another hotel. I'm not sure why the 5/5 reviews differ so much from our experience.

The view from the property was beautiful, and it was so quiet and relaxing. My husband and I really loved our stay here. We enjoyed both meals, dinner and breakfast, and the food was delicious with filling portions. It would suit families, friends or couples.
