It's an alright place and not too far from the beach, though a neighbour's sound system was noisy from 6 am. When we went to the market to buy fish for a BBQ, the receptionist came along. We were charged 800 rupees per kilo instead of 200, and when I asked him for help, he didn't step in. Not nice at all.

Olive Green Resort offers rooms in Batticaloa, with free WiFi, barbecue facilities and an on-site restaurant. Free private parking is available. Rooms come with a flat-screen TV, kettle and private bathroom with a bath or shower; some also have a seating area. There's a 24-hour front desk, plus a private beach area. Guests can hire bikes or cars.

The villa is nice, and it has good WiFi and a BBQ. The service charge was crazy, and there was no mosquito net. The BBQ could have been cooked better, since the fish was rare. It felt a bit overpriced overall, so I would have given it four stars otherwise.

Luxan, the owner, made this my best experience. The food was good, and it's a nice place with air-conditioned rooms.

We found the place late at night, and they gave us good service. There was free WiFi, but no attached bathrooms.
