Melheim Resort and Spa Resort

The hotel sits among the tea estates, with a beautiful atmosphere. We went as a group, and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast and dinner had plenty of choices. There are only a limited number of rooms near reception, so book one of those if steep slopes are difficult for you.

We really enjoyed our stay at Melheim Resort and Spa Haputale. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and professional, and the hill country views made for a calm, beautiful setting. The resort grounds are lovely, though some parts look a little neglected and could use better upkeep. The private jungle walk, with its small waterfall, was a highlight and felt like a real nature experience. Monkeys were often around, even on the balcony, which was memorable. Sri Lankan food was flavorful and well prepared. Western dishes were fine but nothing special, and breakfast had a limited selection that could be expanded. With some work on maintenance, breakfast variety, and the Western options, the resort could be even better.

We only stayed one night, so it's hard to get a full impression. The grounds looked wonderful, and the staff were friendly. The rooms are rustic compared with some places, but exceptionally clean and had everything I might need. If you have an early start, I'd try to avoid room No.1. We woke around 6 am to breakfast starting and other guests checking out.

We spent three lovely nights here. The kids had a great time in the pool, and the food was really good. The staff were wonderful and attentive, and took time to chat with us, something you don't always get at larger hotels. An amazing boutique hotel with an equally amazing team. Thanks for such a memorable stay.
