Amuura Beach House

We spent five nights in this lovely beach house, right on the beach, with a beautiful house and garden. Expect a close-to-nature stay and natural food. We also really enjoyed sharing dinners around one table and having interesting conversations with Claire and the other guests. Thank you!! 🙏🤗

The German host was kind and incredibly helpful, and she has a pretty cool story. Our room was super tidy, and the shared bathroom was just as neat. We had an excellent stay and can highly recommend the place, especially for those stunning sunsets.

Dinesh was incredibly kind and helpful, and the carefully made Srilankan breakfast was delicious. Amuura Beach Villa is lovely, built with obvious care and attention to detail, and everything seemed well considered. One small thing: the mosquito nets were in poor shape, so a few bugs got inside. It wasn't a major problem, and it seems like an easy fix.

We loved the food here. It was the best we've ever tasted! Claire and her daughters made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. They told us about Sri Lankan culture, gave us helpful trip advice, and showed us their cinnamon plantation. Seeing the three women run such an impressive project with so much passion was inspiring. They use natural farming methods there, and everything was organic and tasty. The beach house itself is beautiful, spacious, and elegant, right beside the beach. We loved relaxing in the garden hammock and listening to the ocean, and the beach in front felt almost private, with lovely sunsets. The rooms have a charming, distinctive style and everything we needed. The kitchen had delicious, high-quality food and snacks. We liked the trust-based system: take what you want, write it down, and pay before leaving. The whole stay was really amazing.
