The room we were given wasn't the one we had chosen. We expected privacy and the amenities shown on booking.com, but were moved into a supposedly bigger room beside a garage. There was noise from people walking above, and some listed amenities were missing. The owner offered a partial refund, but the whole situation was stressful and the stay didn't feel worth the price. I agree with the other review about Colombo Villa Collection: they seem to overbook and arrange upgrades without explaining things clearly. It left me feeling that guests may be expected to accept a room they didn't select. Future guests should make sure the booking details are clear.

I wouldn't return at this price, since I think Colombo has better value places to stay. The room was much tighter than it looked in the photos, though otherwise the pictures were accurate, and we did enjoy our night. We felt we paid a lot for such a small room. Breakfast cost an extra 5,000 Rs. I was told it would be 4,800, paid 5,000 in cash, and didn't get any change back.

The caretakers were fantastic, and the place itself was beautiful and cozy. Such a gem for a city escape or a small celebration.
