Colpetty House

Mornings were a highlight, with a generous breakfast spread of delicious Sri Lankan food. Colpetty House is a beautiful place, and the hosts are very generous. The rooms are spacious, and even though it's in a prime part of the city, the property sits in a peaceful corner. Colombo's major landmarks are close by, and both Galle Face and Galle Road are within walking distance. I was delighted to stay here.

The bedroom was damp and smelled bad, and rain came through the bathroom from above when it rained. The kitchen, where the maid cooked, was messy all the time and full of cockroaches. Although the Airbnb listing called it an "entire place," the family used the shared sofa area whenever they wanted, including for work meetings and social events. In four weeks, the sheets were changed once and were stained. The pillows were brown and smelled from years of dirt, and the towels had holes and blood stains. There were clumps of previous guests' hair all over the bedroom floor, and we both got bedbug bites. The family had expensive cars outside, but didn't seem willing to put even a little money into the place.

I stayed at Collette House for two months and had a great time. The hosts were so welcoming and nice, showed me around, and were always there when I needed them. The place was neat and clean, and the manager and cleaning staff were always available to help. The location was good too. Five stars from me, I really recommend it! ;)

It's on a quiet street, which was nice, and the people there were friendly. The room was fine and clean enough. The AC was too strong and couldn't be turned down, and breakfast was very simple.
