GSH Colombo

Getting around and shopping was convenient, with tuk-tuks easy to find. I stayed one day in room 203. The room and bathroom were very clean, breakfast was good, and the staff were helpful. The front desk team were friendly and welcoming. Great budget hotel, and I’d definitely come back.

Our study group of roughly 27 students and staff spent 14 nights at GSH Colombo. Breakfast and dinner were consistently amazing, and the chef was always open to special requests. The hotel staff were kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. I especially want to commend Sakunthala at reception for continually making sure we were comfortable. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Colombo.

We celebrated our father’s 90th birthday at GSH Colombo hotel recently, with 35-40 guests in the event hall on the 06th floor. The hotel staff decorated it very nicely and provided a music and light mixer. They also arranged a decorated bar on the adjoining terrace. The buffet was well set up and the food was delicious. We paid 15,200 for one night. It was okay, but I think we could have found better for that price. The rooms and bathroom were clean, though both were small. This is a city hotel, and the view is just Galle Road, which isn’t scenic, plus a small balcony looking onto a dusty road. We booked bed and breakfast. The English set breakfast tasted good and was filling; for dinner we ordered through Uber Eats. The TV had only a few channels, which was fine. A minibar was available, but there were no milk packets in the room at first. We called and they brought some promptly.
