Hilton Colombo

The breakfast buffet is impressive, with plenty of international cuisines, and the Chinese resturant is good too. There's a decent pool bar, though it's a walk from the main complex, plus a good bar near reception. The rooms have been updated, but they're fairly small, functional boxes, typical of the 80s time warp feel. There's not much right around the hotel, though an easy tuktuk ride gets you anywhere you want to go. It ticks all the boxes for a decent international standard hotel.

The Hilton Colombo has great service, and the Executive Lounge staff really stood out for my family and me as Hilton Diamond members. Dinesh and Kiara looked after us at breakfast, and I can't say enough positive things about them. When I mentioned my wife wanted me to bring a bagel back to the room, Dinesh got everything ready and wrapped it up nicely. He also remembered that I liked the egg hoppers from earlier in the week, when we'd stayed at the Hilton, and had them waiting when we returned later in the week. They're friendly and very service oriented. Hilton should be proud to have them as employees.

At the coffee area in Hilton Colombo, we found a calm, comfortable spot to sit and relax. The coffee and setup were good, and the staff were very friendly and polite, making us feel welcome. Our order took a bit longer to arrive while we were seated outside, but apart from that, we enjoyed the visit and the staff had a positive service attitude.

The suite was spacious, comfortable, and very clean, with plenty of room for our family. Breakfast was high quality, with a good variety that changed each day, and the restaurant service was smooth and pleasant. We stayed at Hilton Colombo and had a partly successful visit, though some things clearly need improvement. We arrived around 3 PM with a suite booked and had requested an extra bed for our children. Even after asking reception several times after check-in, it didn't reach our room until 11 PM. The children were tired after a long journey, so the delay caused significant inconvenience. No one at reception seemed to take responsibility or handle the issue, despite our repeated requests. We'd like to thank the area manager, who eventually stepped in and handled the situation professionally. She significantly improved our experience. We hope the hotel pays more attention to smooth service and gets agreed additional services delivered on time. The hotel has a lot of good potential, but service consistency still needs work.
