I booked through an agent three weeks ahead for one night on 9-11-2024 and paid in full. After I reached Colombo, they kept me waiting until 5pm to check in, then said cleaning was still going on and asked me to get a refund. I suspect they'd accepted another guest who was paying more, but I can't be sure. It was really frustrating to be told to get a refund after all that waiting, especially when I was already in the city. Luckily I managed to book somewhere else. I won't book a place again unless it's through a reputable website.

The two apartments were really comfortable and huge. It could be cleaner, but it's fine for a short stay and I'd recommend it to people visiting Colombo.

We stayed for three nights in December 2023, and things were unpleasant from start to finish. A week before we arrived, the owner called to say there'd been an overbooking and asked us to cancel through Booking. We couldn't do that at such short notice while traveling with children. She repeatedly mentioned on the phone that she could rent it out for more, which we found really cheeky. She eventually accepted the booking, but the place we were given looked nothing like the Booking photos. The owner has two buildings, one with renovated accommodation and another where the units badly need renovation. Ours was in very poor condition. When we complained, she just gave a tired smile and excuses. The accommodation wasn't cleaned once during our stay, and although breakfast was included in the price, we never got it. The place put us off eating anyway. On top of that, while we were out, someone opened our bag and searched it for valuables. I can only advise against staying here. It'll save you trouble and disgust.

The owner required full payment in advance, then called just before we arrived to say the rooms weren't ready and sent us to different apartments. It's been three days and our refund still hasn't come through. A terrible experience.

Our three-bedroom apartment was very clean and right in the center. The food and hospitality were impeccable, and it was very kid-friendly. The host was the friendliest we met during our stay.
