The place has a lovely historic feel and sits in a beautiful, quiet location. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff and service were great.

The air conditioning was fantastic, and the location worked well for the price. That's about where the positives end. My room was small and only mostly clean, with sheets that had stains and could've been better. It also smelled of mold. I don't know if that was the weather, being close to the sea, or poor ventilation.

The staff were friendly, and for Colombo the value wasn't bad, though you should expect to pay more than you might for something similar elsewhere. It's a handy local place to get some rest when you arrive. The beach is nearby, but it's for looking at, not swimming.

After struggling to find a clean hotel in Colombo, my wife and I ended up at De Colombo Boutique hotel for shopping and a bit of medication. It made the trip and our money feel worthwhile. We felt safe, and the location was excellent, near Majestic city, pizza hut, and plenty of other places. Everyone was ready to help, from the manager to the chef and cleaner. They were so friendly that it felt like staying with relatives. The bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable. There was a lift, breakfast, and Indian food available to order. If we come back to Sri lanka, we'll stay here again. We're already missing the place. -Maldivian Couple-
