Rockwell Colombo

We arrived very late at night, but the staff stayed up, greeted us and helped with our luggage. They even provided extra utilities and went the extra mile. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a microwave for heating food, and the washrooms were clean and roomy. It’s ideal for couples. I highly recommend hotel Rockwell.

Not worth the price at all. I booked the Suite room for 10,500LKR, but it felt like a budget hotel worth 3,000-5,000 LKR. The place was dusty and not clean. The body towels were even smaller than face towels, there was water blockage in the shower, and after about 15 minutes of showering the whole room would be a pool. No shower gel either, just a small piece of soap. NOT RECOMMENDED!

I visited in May-2025, arriving late, and the hotel accommodated me. The room and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well, and there was a balcony area. Staff were courteous, attentive and very helpful. Breakfast was good and healthy. When they found out I was unwell, the very kind host provided food outside regular hours. The central location is close to shops, launderette, dining locations, medical facilities and pharmacies.

I found the stay reasonably comfortable in some ways, but too many practical things were missing for a place presented as four-star. There was no desk or table, so working on a computer or eating in the room was awkward. The TV only carried local channels, and there was no dinner service or à la carte menu, though ordering through Uber Eats or PickMe Foods was easy. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the room's air conditioning and lights worked well. The room itself was average in size. But in the “Norwich” room, hot water wasn't working and the single soap dispenser was broken. Tea bags and sugar were there, but no kettle, and the safe didn't work either. The bathroom was messy to use. Its curtains didn't work properly, the windows wouldn't lock securely, and with no bath mat or carpet, water from a bath spread across the bathroom and into the room. I stayed at the Rockwell Hotel in August 2025. It might suit someone on a short, budget stay who can accept these issues, but based on other four-star hotels I've stayed in, this didn't meet that standard.
